Exposição de crianças e adolescentes na internet: uma análise sobre direitos e consequências.
Resumo
In a society taken over by the internet and the elements that come of it, the rise of new
practices and behavior patterns is inevitable. With the rise of social networks, the internet
self-exposure phenomenon has become one of the great marks of today’s society. However, it
is not uncommon for this exposure to exceed the limits of individuality and be done against
third parties. In many cases, such exposure is done by fathers and mothers in relation to their
under-aged children. This practice, called “sharenting”, a term from the English language, has
grown exponentially in recent years, and affects a large number of Brazilian children and
adolescents. This work aims to analyze and discuss the practice of sharenting, its background,
its causes and consequences. It also aims to analyze, under the juridical aspect, the child
figure, the adolescent figure, and the parental figure, as well as to discuss fundamental rights
in the context of the internet and the conflict between such rights. To achieve these objectives,
this research used a qualitative approach methodology of the bibliographic type. In
conclusion, there is a need for society, and especially parents, to understand and consider the
impact of their actions on the internet in relation to children and adolescents, so that there is
balance and harmony between the fundamental rights of both parties, in such way that parents
can exercise their free expression, without damaging the private lives, as well as the image,
honor and intimacy of their children.
