Resumo
The present article will treat about the phenomenon of uberization and the importance
of unions for the defense of the uberized workers. The article will explain: what is the
phenomenon of Uberization and how it has developed in Brazil, the history of Brazilian unions
and its relevance for the conquest and defense of labor rights, the labor relationship between
drivers and the companies by the perspective of fundamental rights, how the unions have
represented the uberized workers, what are the difficulties of these organizations and what
would be the best way for these institutions act for a more effective defense. The work has a
qualitative methodological approach, as it uses the study of books, legislation, scientific articles
and jurisprudence about the subject. In conclusion, it is clear that the unions need to adapt to
also represent uberized workers and to try to represent and unit the class of informal workers
(app drivers, intermittent workers, informal workers and others) since the informal workforce /
uberized have grown in Brazil, being a way of also maintain the existence of the unions..
