Resumo
It is possible to see that the reality of inequalities within the labor market reflects the need for
changes in the context of the Brazilian labor market, making it essential that effective
measures be put into practice that can enable these changes, which leads us to reflect on the
application of affirmative actions within companies. The objective was to understand the role
of organizational psychologists in the application of affirmative actions for the insertion of
black people in private companies based on the Recruitment and Selection subsystem. This is
a narrative bibliographic research, carried out through searches in the following databases:
Google Scholar, Scientific Electronic Library Online, PubMed Central, Journal Portal of the
Foundation Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel, PePSIC,
official website of the Federal Council of Psychology and its resolutions, as well as analyzes
of books and reports relevant to the topic. The results focus on characterizing institutional
racism in work relationships, trajectories of black people, the role of the organizational
psychologist in the selection process, as well as identifying affirmative actions for the

inclusion of black people in private companies, in order to broaden the vision about of the
theme. The practices carried out by organizational psychologists involved training and
guidance with all members of the company, campaigns based on awareness raising,
quantitative indicators to monitor the number of black people in the company and also,
recruitment and selection carried out by the organizational psychologist himself.
