O bullying e o papel do psicólogo escolar
Resumo
Bullying encompasses various forms of violence, such as verbal, moral, sexual, social, psychological, physical, material, and virtual, and is characterized by insults, defamation, harassment, isolation, persecution, among others, causing suffering and embarrassment to the victim. In schools, it affects more than 14% of the adolescent population in more than 40 countries, making it a global social problem, with harmful effects that can persist throughout life if not stopped. In this context, recognizing that the school is a space with subjective relationships, the school psychologist must integrate individual perspectives for the collective good. Therefore, this article aimed to analyze the role of the school psychologist in combating bullying. The starting point was the following specific objectives: 1. Understand the role of the school psychologist in the context of bullying prevention; 2. Investigate the role of school psychologists in combating bullying at school; 3. Discuss the possibilities of the school psychologist’s role in combating bullying. Methodologically, this research is classified as qualitative, based on bibliographical research. The identified roles of the school psychologist cover a wide spectrum of activities and responsibilities for the professional in addressing bullying. It was possible to conclude that the presence of the school psychologist is extremely important, as it represents an opportunity to prevent and combat bullying, by creating a welcoming school environment that encourages the development of social skills and healthy relationships.
