The Fire and Panic Safety Project (PSCIP) is a document prepared by qualified professionals,
such as civil engineers or work safety engineers, and which aims to provide greater safety to
people who circulate in buildings. This project must be analyzed and approved by the Fire
Department, through inspections and permit concessions. It is also mandatory for all buildings,
including those under construction or renovation. It so happens that currently the delivery
process for this project remains fragmented and based on documentation as a form of
communication between those responsible for the projects and the CBMCE. Even with the
possibility of sending and receiving in virtual format, due to the social distancing policies
imposed by the pandemic, some of the documents generated have errors or omissions of
information that can make it difficult for the corporation to analyze and approve, in addition to
causing additional costs and rework for those responsible. The present study aimed to present
a proposal for the implementation of BIM in the PSCIP analysis process with the CBMCE. It
was an exploratory study, carried out based on bibliographical and documental research, but
also on data provided by the CBMCE. As mentioned in the study, currently the analysis of the
PSCIP by the CBMCE occurs digitally, meeting the requirements established by the current
regulations (Technical Standard No. 001/2008 and Ordinance No. 194/2020). However, it is
believed that with the implementation of BIM in this process it will be possible to facilitate the
analysis process, from delivery by designers or specialized companies, to the analysis itself,
performed by analysts at CBMCE, who will only have access to one file the most diverse
information about the project and will be able to analyze its compliance with the established
norms. Finally, it is believed that this research contributed to improvements in the analysis
processes of the PSCIP by the CBMCE, mainly with regard to the examples of BIM
implementation in corporations in other Brazilian states, based on the automation of the
conference and standards for firefighting projects and panic. It is worth noting that the scope of
the research includes knowledge management to extract personal experience previously held
by project evaluators for a fully computerized system, with a reduction in errors and an increase
in quality. With the advancement of technology and popularization of the BIM concept, it is
possible to aim for its implementation in the corporation, with the consequent automation of
the verification of PSCIP standards.
