Resumo
In recent years, layoff rates have risen at a considerable level, and with the arrival of
Covid 19, this number has grown more and more. Based on this finding, this article
sought to analyze the contributions of the organizational psychologist and work in
conducting a dismissal process, in order to minimize possible psychosocial suffering
for the worker. For this, the literature review method was used, seeking to
encompass a historical premise that contextualizes the world of work, the formation
of bonds between the individual and organizations, in addition to seeking to
understand the dismissal phenomenon and its implications. Through research related
to this context, this article brought reflections and possibilities for the psychologist to
work in the field studied, exposing the need to develop multidisciplinary action plans,
propose internal and external policies, as well as empower the subject in the face of
changes in the market. of work
