This study aimed to explore the relationship between LGBTphobia and the impact on the
schooling of LGBTQIA+ people. Through qualitative research with integrative review, works
between 2015 and 2021 were consulted, and it was found that, besides the precarious training
concerning the understanding of demands in sexual and gender diversity in schools, managers
and educators are not yet able to deal with situations of LGBTphobia in school institutions,
and often corroborate the practice of this behavior. In order to understand from the perspective
of those who work in education and of the students, it is necessary to understand the reality
and the difficulties of the areas in question, since the dimension of the job and the student's
school experience goes through the life of these subjects most of the time, inside and outside
the organizations. Given the lack of scientific production about the phenomenon, the present
article is necessary in order to think of ways to prevent LGBTphobic practices from being
maintained and also to act assertively against them when they occur and to help demystify the
theme, considering that little is debated about the subject, especially when it comes to
adolescents and children. New discussions and studies are necessary for a broader and more
experiential understanding of the subject in question.
