Resumo: The functions of the woman's social place are crossed by expectations created mainly from a historically conceptualized narrative, by beliefs about models to be followed, among them, motherhood. In this context, the present study aimed to analyze the relationship between the idealization of motherhood and subjective feelings through the filmic analysis of the cinematographic representation of the film "The lost daughter". Thus, the methodology used in the present work was based on a film analysis, using content analysis as data analysis, where the film is considered as a story. The film used addresses in its plot issues related to motherhood, women's experience, family, marriage, career and resignation. With this, it was possible to conclude during the analyzes that the film “The lost daughter” is a tool for reflection about new possibilities and meanings about concepts that lead to observe patterns, so that they can break them, mainly referring to motherhood. With this, the film serves as an expositor of latent contents in society, standing out as an instrument that can give voice to women's experiences, which are sometimes silenced, or do not have space and social legitimacy for their suffering. Keywords: Maternity. Women. Subjectivity. Film Analysis
