A expansão dos ambulatórios especializados no atendimento a transexuais e travestis e a presença da psicologia sob a perspectiva da política nacional de saúde integral LGBTQIAPN+
Resumo
The extended care for transgender individuals is provided for by the National Policy of
Comprehensive Health for Lesbians, Gays, Bisexuals, Transvestites, and Transsexuals, as well
as the role of Psychology in specialized outpatient clinics catering to trans individuals. The
objective is to understand the role of Psychology in these clinics in five cities in Brazil
through a study conducted in the form of documentary research. The data analysis is carried
out through content analysis, considering the following categories: the year of creation of the
clinic, location, team characterization, services offered, and services involving Psychology,
through supporting patients during the transgender process and also developing health
prevention actions and promoting citizenship. Results point to the quantitative expansion in
the number of clinics in the analyzed territories, as well as the unanimous presence of
Psychology in these services. However, it emphasizes practices that are subordinated to the
normative perspective of individuals and a gap in assertive publications from the Federal
Council of Psychology regarding practice in specialized health facilities.
