Abstract

The article addresses occupational stress in retail professionals, focusing on the contributions of Organizational Psychology to tackle this issue. An integrative literature review methodology was used, utilizing Scielo, Google Scholar, and Pepsico databases to collect works published between 2013 and 2023, with keywords such as stress, worker health, supermarket, psychodynamics, people management, program evaluation, and mental health. Ten academic productions were collected, and the analysis aimed to characterize work in retail by identifying stressors, also highlighting the psychologist's impact on organizational performance. The study concludes with a proposal for mental health-promoting interventions for retail employees. It is concluded that such approaches not only benefit the mental health of professionals but can also enhance organizational efficiency, emphasizing the relevance of psychological intervention in promoting healthier and more productive work environments in retail.
