Resumo: Palliative care is a crucial part of health services. Developed to act in reducing the patient's suffering in a humanized way with impacts on the improvement of physical, psychological, social and/or spiritual health. The purpose of the work 4 is to analyze how palliative care can contribute to the child's finitude process. A qualitative study of an exploratory character was conducted. To deepen and clarify in a systematic, orderly and comprehensive manner the subject in question was necessary to use the integrative review of the literature. Virtual searches were done on BVS, periodical Capes, Redalyc and Google Academic platforms through the use of the String “Palliative Care” and “Child Cancer”. In the end, 13 articles composed the final corpus of this work. The literature consulted points out that palliative care can minimize the child's emotional impacts with cancer, which during the course of the disease can get worse. It has also been identified that palliative care promote general improvements in the patient's quality of life regarding the acceptance of the disease, narrowing of the confidence link between patient and professional, participation in playing playful activities, reduced pain and suffering when resulting from Sadness, anguish, depression and fear. Another point discussed is the role of the health team that works as an integrated body, harmoniously and humanized. Among the members of this team, the role of the palliativist psychologist has been highlighted, who through his work acts in the need of the other, seeking dialogue with the patient and his family, being aware of emotional changes, understanding individual needs and developing strategies evidence -based. It is concluded that palliative care has been extremely important for child treatment, regardless of the disease phase, bringing significant contributions regarding the patient's quality of life.
