Vínculo mãe-bebê: as repercussões da internação na unidade de terapia intensiva neonatal.

Abstract

With regard to maternal attachment and bonding, different factors that interfere with it are considered, such as the environment, the mother's emotional state and the expectations created during pregnancy. Reflecting on the bond and the way it is established, and taking into account the factors that affect the baby and his family during hospitalization in the NICU, the study aims to understand how hospitalization and the care practices carried out by professionals in the NICU have an impact on the relationship mother-baby. This is a qualitative and descriptive study, using a semi-structured interview as a data collection tool. The collected data were interpreted through John Bowlby's theory of separation and attachment. Thus, it is observed that themes emerged about prevalent feelings, family and spiritual coping resources; mothers' perception of care and the team's care for the mother-baby binomial. Thus, it was concluded that, despite the feeling of fear and anguish present in the mothers, the bond can be established even in the context of hospitalization.
