Implicações psicossociais da Pandemia COVID-19 nas pessoas em situação de rua: uma análise da rede de apoio social.

Abstract

We are currently experiencing a pandemic, caused by the infectious disease known as Covid-19. The lack of specific treatment for infections caused by the new coronavirus led to the death of approximately 600,000 people throughout Brazil. Fortaleza is among the capitals with the highest number of deaths as a result of Covid-19, with a prevalence of deaths in the suburbs. It is undeniable that people in situations of social vulnerability are the ones who experience the greatest successful challenges of this global phenomenon. This work is a research, linked to the Course Conclusion Work, of undergraduate Psychology with the theme: Psychosocial implications of the Covid19 pandemic in homeless people: an analysis of the social support network. The study is justified because it is a population group that survives in precarious conditions of existence, being more exposed to health problems and inevitably more susceptible to contracting the virus due to numerous objective and subjective factors. Considering the situation of public calamity, we start from the following issue: What is the importance of social support for homeless people in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic? In this scenario, our general objective was to analyze the social support network of homeless people in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic. The specific objectives are: to map the sources of social support of homeless people during the Covid-19 pandemic; identify the types of support received by the homeless population during the Covid-19 pandemic; to analyze the social support network as a strategy to fight the Pandemic Covid-19. The material is a qualitative research, empirical in nature, characterized by individual interviews, with a coordinator of the Pop Center and three users of the equipment. The collected data were analyzed qualitatively through the Content Analysis method through thematic type modality. For a better understanding of the results, the thematic axis was divided into: macro-category, categories and subcategories. It should be noted that at various times in the study, the categories were presented cross-sectionally. When analyzing the social support network, we consider it an important tool in facing adversity. For this purpose, social support is a possibility to confront the daily difficulties experienced by the homeless population in the current pandemic context and also during the decrees of social distancing. This research allowed us to know and reflect on the set of factors (social, economic, political, cultural and psychosocial) that permeate and influence the daily lives of individuals living on the streets.
